There is so much to see and do in the area with beaches to the north and south as well as a wealth of attractions to suit all tastes which include Sherborne Castle numerous National Trust properties and gardens Longleat Safari Park Montacute House Yeovilton Air Museum to name but a few. In the evenings enjoy the lovely views from the patio or visit one of the rustic traditional pubs close by serving good food. This traditional cottage retains much of its original quirky charm and character and offers TWO bedrooms: approached via the original narrow cottage style stairs 1 double and 1 twin. Bathroom: upstairs with slipper bath and separate WC. Downstairs WC. Lounge: with woodburner TV DVD and Freeview. Dining room: separate. Kitchen: modern units with cooker fridge/freezer washing machine dishwasher and microwave. Outside: enclosed gardens with patio and seating. Amenities: ample parking. Bed linen electric and central heating included ( 30 surcharge for central heating between 1 October and 31 March). Free internet access. 1 dog welcome 2 dogs by arrangement. Additional info: please be aware that the cottage is a strictly no smoking area this is due to its thatched roof and listed status. The owner is a ceramic artist and illustrator and offers 20% discount on any paint your own pottery activity guests may wish to undertake while on holiday at the cottage. Sherborne is a market town in Dorset, England. It is located on the River Yeo not far from Oborne, Folke, Milborne Wick, Yetminster, Yeovil, and Bishops Caundle and is one of over 130 towns and villages in Dorset in which Go2 has cottages or holidays lets available. The closest cities are Wells (population 10,406), Bristol (population 420,556), and Salisbury (which has a population of 43,355 according to the 2001 Census).
The major A30 route connecting London with the South West passes through Sherborne, making it very easy to access. Thw town also had good rail access with its own station. Sherborne is famous for its historic buildings including Sherborne Abbey, a manor house, two castles and the well known independent schools. An ochre coloured ham stone is used in the construction of many of the famous medieval and Georgian buildings in the old town, which gives the town's architecture its distinctive appearance.
